Convert Tachometer

Hi,
I have been toying with the idea of adding  Tach to my Convert.
I suspect the motor doesn't spin as fast as other Guzzi's I have owned.
Has anyone on here added a tach to a Convert and what did you find?

BTW, a Hondamatic 400 turned up at our Sunday coffee meet, I had no idea that Honda also experimented with fluid drives.

My Cal 2 Auto came with a factory tach (electric, not mechanical) which quit working YEARS ago. But within the last year or so I installed a 4" Speedhut elec tach on my fairing, and just fell back in love with watching the Auto revs. They're not very dynamic, admittedly, but fun to see what you're spinning @ 80 mph.

So I guess any elec aftermarket tach would work (digital or analogue readout), as long as you figure out where to mount it.

My impression is you can’t redline it in hi range..what rpms at 80? Hi or Lo?

The two slightly diagonal lines are the Hi and Lo range ‘gears’.

  I fitted an electric tach from Equus designed for anything from a single to eight cyl engine . Fit the original housing and works well , it has a few quirks, but it's fine
for most intents and purposes . It did cost a bit over $130.00 Canadian (peso) !

I also have thought of adding a tach to my Convert. I enjoyed looking at the tach on my Cal II automatic, and seeing how nicely the fluid drive kept the engine in its sweet spot.
