24th Kentucky Moto Guzzi rally

Hi folks we are getting close the 24th Kentucky Moto Guzzi rally is right around the corner September 19-22. catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Rally is at Kentucky River camp ground Frankfort Kentucky.
Rally fee $50 per person
Camping $10 per person
Saturday morning breakfast provided by campground for $10
Food and drinks provided all day everyday by rally
Thursday backed potatoes bar for dinner
Friday breakfast, hammers hot dogs lunch, chilly dinner
Saturday breakfast done by camp ground $10, hammers hot dogs lunch and hamburger and Brotz for dinner
Saturday night door prizes grand prizes rider awards and raffle items.
Guided rides provided by Todd Finch Friday and John Barnes Saturday.

This is a fine rally.  The location is very scenic and quiet.  The food is excellent.  The attendees are all great, even the non-guzzi folks.  There are plenty of great riding roads in the area.  I always come to this on and the Ohio Rally in Zanesville that I am leaving for tomorrow morning.

Well it's offical I'll be there!!   After being laid up for 16 monthis with this ankle. I got brave and jumped on the 1400 today and rode it for the first time to the Gym this morning.

Now that the ankle is fused looks like i will be relagated to only being able to ride a bike with a heel-toe shifter as my ankle does not flex anymore. That's fine though, as the 1400 and my 73 Eldo both that that set up.  Just happy be be coming out of the end of this meidical journey, and getting back on two wheels.  Thank goodness for the Vespa for all those months in a cast or a boot.

See ya there on 2 wheels this year!

Last few years we've done a nice job of making Thursday's ride down an eventful one, followed by great group rides both Friday and Saturday. Sundays return trip is usually a bit more focused on destination. Expecting more of the same this year.

Thanks to all that put on another *great* Kentucky rally. The Kid and I found a new road.. several miles of freshly paved 1 1/2 lanes wide with nothing but curves. 
For some reason the staff gave me a Red Suspenders award. Those kids can just stay off my lawn. 
The forecast was for sunny and hot for the whole weekend, so I (and The Kid) didn't bring our rainsuit bottoms. We were traveling on naked bikes with no luggage capacity.  Naturally, we ran through a frog strangler on the way home.    He pulled up beside me and shouted.. Hey! I'm not hot any more. 
Good times, and a memorable rally.
