Last fall I had posted about new tire choices on the CalVin for the hard roads here. I had just enough time to do an oil change before putting her away for the season as we got an early freeze-up here in Alaska, muddy, cold and wet, and dirty to boot. Did not get the new tire in time. Most of my procrastinating due to the fact of not having a garage to work in or lift stand to put it on.
Well my neighbor is now the heavy mechanic for our local utility and offered the use of the shop so as soon as I got it out last week brought it down.

So easy with a gantry crane and a couple of straps! The stand shown was for holding a loader bucket up while servicing hydraulics.

Dirty, dirty girl!.....I had prepared to address a small leak@ the rear seal, not significant but causing quite a mess on the wheel, I had the new seal but did not anticipate that it was the paper gasket leaking. Got new ones from MGcycle within a week.

PO had this worked on and informed me prior to sale. The outer gasket was glued to the shell and took some work to get off.

All cleaned up and ready to go. I did go ahead and replace the bearing seal, but not the inner one, everything else looked fine no other leaks.

Shinko 705 next to old me marathon. Now waiting for the front (matching 705 shinko in 4.10-18) to come in. I had considered doing the tubeless conversion but don't feel it will work with the shinko as it is a tube type.
While I was waiting for the new gaskets I removed the window and nacel to chase a bad turn signal wire and found this:

Don't know how that happened. On the road again, no leaks , tire holding. Next is to address a leaky fork seal. Got a seal mate coming, hope to not need to disassemble forks.
Cheers!
