Mystery 750Breva Side Stand Auxiliary Reinforcement Bracket
« on: February 25, 2025, 04:17:24 PM »
Can anyone suggest ways to track down mystery parts on my 2004 750Breva? Specifically, I have a bracket and a special shoulder-nut to reinforce my side stand mounting. These sure look OEM. There are no such parts on AF1 Racing's IPL for 2004-2009, 750 Breva's. The bracket hole is egg-shaped and the shoulder on the nut is worn, both contributing to side-stand pivot slop and the dread "side stand drop" while riding. I sure would like to find replacement parts if they exist.

Well, I answered my own question! Looked on IPL for 750 Nevada and there were my parts. However, the "where used" list for these parts don't go back to the Breva. Whatever, I got them on order from AF1:
GU32432711  bracket USA, Nevada; GU32433011 nut USA, Nevada

I guess there'll be a fair dollop of grease put in there now.

So, this could be a new topic but kinda the same:

Has anybody installed the "European", short side-stand on their 750 Breva? (Apparently, that is the preferred thing to do when installing the H&B center-stand kit.) If so, or if you have ridden one over there, what is your experience with that side stand? Especially, how does it do on unpaved or soft surfaces? I am considering installing one but would hate to shell out $300 only to trade one set of problems for another.

I have zero issues, though haven't identified if OEM or H&B - I  assume(d) to be OEM. Yesterday, I parked in my usual spot: up on the end of a pavement, where the surface is loose large gravel with earth below. Left in gear so as to not roll backwards, otherwise perfectly stable.
(As with the Speed 400 but to a lesser degree, I find the need to keep the bike near vertical to swing down the stand, so heck knows what the longer US one is like!)

I have 2 Breva 750s an American market 2004 and an EU market 2006. The sidestands are different especially in their lean angle with the EU one leaning considerably farther, so possibly shorter. I'm not sure what center stands are on either bike but 2006 stands don't touch each other and the 2004 stands do conflict. To use the center stand on the 2004 the side stand must be deployed first and when both are up they contact each other. That's all I really know.
