T3 VIN Plate
« on: May 14, 2025, 09:46:40 AM »
I've found the VIN plate at Stein Dinse, and somewhere else, but they weren't in English. Do you have a source?

Is there a problem with me stamping in the data myself? The ones that come stamped seem rather expensive.

Harper's used to have them. You might check with Moe @ Cycle Garden.

I've stamped my own, practicing first on some scrap aluminum so that I get the force need just right. The stamps my late father bought 70 years ago are a perfect match in both size and font.  :azn:

Where have you found them pre-stamped?

If you don’t have or cannot source stamps with the correct font, annother option is to take them to a competent jeweler to be engraved to match an old vin tag.

Here's one on Bender's site:

There's one in the Netherlands for 15 euro, but won't ship to the US.

I'll check with Harpers - thanks Charlie.

Khneisser shows as out of stock, but I contacted them and they still have a few. I'll likely be ordering a few unless Harper's has them, please report back if they do.

Will do, Charlie.

On another note, it appears the non English versions are available. Any idea if that would be a problem here in the USA?

I doubt having a non-English VIN tag on a 50 year old bike would be an issue.
