Norge front brake bleeding
« on: August 26, 2025, 12:26:48 AM »
This might be a dumb question but can I change out the fluid in the dual linked front brakes using a brake bleeder one by one?
I've got new Brembo fluid I want to flush through the whole system but don't have a vacuum system or anything else.

I don't know what kind of old fluid is in there but its definitely been over 2 years since the last owner changed it.
My only troubling thought would be that doing the calipers one by one (starting with the longer line) won't fully clear out all the old fluid.
I've also only got a single MotionPro brake bleeder tool so can only do 1 side at a time.

Norge as we know it, are not front/rear linked. Bleeding front brakes is a left/right first of your choice. Having a second hand to hold the lever while you bleed is best, keep the reservoir full.
Not that hard, just flush each side until it looks new.

If you want to, you can just open both bleeders at the caliper with a hose attached onto the nipples, (the bike’s that is…), into a recepticle and keep topping up the reservoir.
Gravity is really beaut like that, it just keeps emptying out the circuit while you add the new stuff.

Do the clutch at the same time if it's hydraulic. They need to be done yearly.

A very helpful and easier way is to use Speed Bleeders…also for the clutch cable.  Makes bleeding systems much easier!

Thanks all for the help.

Finally found some time this morning and parked the bike up on the higher floors of the multi car park where I wouldn't be bothered and got it done in about 20 mins.
The motionpro bleeder helps a lot but definitely speedbleeders with hoses attached would have been ideal.

Ran about 5-6 reservoirs full  through each caliper till I was satisfied I had cleared out all the old fluid and topped it up, washed/wiped down any spillage with the water bottle and was good to go!

Yep. Although this next oil change I'll have to have a mechanic change out the clutch to the newer part that I got from Harpers.
