This is the motorcycle campground, Two Wheels of Suches. They have a few rooms and a number of cabins available. Contact them at http://twowheelsofsuches.com or 706-973-1671 to reserve a room or cabin. No reservation is needed for camping.

All the cabins/rooms are taken at this point. Keep checking back for cancellations.

I presume camping is available.

Looking forward to it. I'll be staying in Dahlonega in a motel . Everything closer to Suches was ether booked or ridiculously over-priced.  Like $200 a night and up. I mean, we're talking Dahlonega, Georgia here folks, not Aspen, not even Ashville.

Here's the "fine print" on staying at the Smith House in Dahlonega: "Rates do not include 8% state, 8% local tax, $5/per night transportation tax, and 4% booking fee."  A booking fee?  Really?  Transportation tax?  I have my own transportation, thank you very much (and I've already paid my tax to operate it!)  Man, I used to like Dahlonega, but it's gotten WAY too big for its britches.

Ga. state tax is 4%. Most county's :food: add 3%. That extra 8 must be a city FU tax.

I'm planning on being there.  Will be camping to justify keeping this tent and camping gear around.

Hoping to get a demo on a DR650.

Just joined MGNOC. I'm heading up to Suchess in the morning. I can only hang out for the day. Do I need to check in with anyone or just park and check out the bikes?

Pretty laid back, grab coffee & sit on the porch. I should be coming tomorrow too, have to see how the wife feels to drive. The rest is doggy time.
There's no check in, Wayne or Mike should be walking around or out on a ride. Just hang out & introduce yourself. Have fun & ride safe

While there I test rode a Suzuki SV650 (I had one in 2000) and a 800T. Nice bikes and the 800 engine is smooth everywhere and has power from 4000 up. But I never smiled or laughed. I got on the V7III and immediately was smiling!
I'll be back for a while today on the V85.

We had a good ride around the Georgia mountains. Stopped for BBQ. Did not hear banjos.  :boozing:

Good to finally meet you Wayne.

Looks like the rest of you went for a group ride when I rode up around lake Burton.  Got pretty wet there, but looked better around Helen.

Yes, good to meet Wayne and a few other people. Looks like we went to the same overlook, but at different times, we went after lunch, hadda wait on some folks. Was nice being in the cool mountains and seeing fall coming. Hella long rides from/to Tampa on Fri & Sun, next time staying a few more days & taking time coming & going. Back to the heat & humidity

After the Saturday lunch, I rode back to Dahlonega to have dinner with a friend.  Caught just a bit of rain Sunday morning for the ride home.
