'26 V7 Fuel Gauge

I am throwing this out but it is probably too soon for anyone here to have an answer. As the title says I have a new '26 V7, the Special. The Special unlike the Sport does not have a fuel gauge. I would like to have one and wonder what it would take to install this feature. I am assuming that there is no mechanism in the tank to send the proper signal. If I were to install the proper parts would the existing ECU recognize the signal. Would it have to be flashed? Very early in my ownership like one of the first start ups the fuel gauge appeared on the dash but I haven't seen it since. So obviously the dash is set up for it but what else would need to be done? Thoughts?

just learned something new.  I did not know only the Sport variant has the fuel gauge.....MG should have done it for all. 

a retro kit is likely not possible.  Doing some part # research shows the Sport tank has a different root part # than the others.  The root part #s take out color diffs.

I couldn't see on the showroom bikes if the Stone/Specials have the square blockoff for it.   If anyone removes a E5+ stone/special tank soon, please check.   

Then the main wiring harness is unique to the Sport, so the others likely do not even have the connector for it.

two tanks and two wiring harnesses.  It prob would have been cheaper to just add that feature to all them.

In my mind crazy. As much as people bitch about lack of fuel gauges on their bikes you would think it would be some kind of priority. I wondered if a new pump and sending unit and a flash would work, but I guess not. The Italians probably figure with a 5.5 gallon tank who needs one. Out where I live gas stations can be a couple of hundred miles apart. On one trip out in the middle of Nevada on a route even more lonely the Rt 50 I saw only six cars in 160 miles. I religiously use the trip meter. Thanks for the reply. Maybe one is out now but I looked a couple of months ago for a service manual for the '26's but only found them for the '25's. There have been major changes to the '26's including exhaust, emissions controls , cams etc.
