As some may know, I have devised and built an apparatus to re adjust the sacred screw on Norge throttle bodies that have been molested. I can elaborate as to how it’s done, but suffice to say that a control set can be fitted to a pressure cylinder and taken up to about 0.2 atmospheres which is registered by a manometer tube attached to the reservoir.
The pressure is increased so the fluid rises to the top of the tube to reach a line and then the compressor is shut off and the air in the reservoir begins to flow through the TB back to atmosphere.
As it vents through the TB, the manometer level descends down to a lower mark, tests have shown that the travel in the tube is about one metre.
This dump time is recorded over many runs and the dump, times are within 1.0 - 1.5 seconds of each other, typically around 20 seconds.
So….
If I can get a known good unmolested set of TB’s, I can do test runs and find what the dump time is for that set and then fit a set of molested ones to the apparatus and adjust the SS to give an identical dump time and will then have replicated the flow rate of the “good” set…
Whew…!
Now here’s the thing.
Does anyone out there have or can get hold of, a set that are appropriate for my 2007 Norge, (I think y’all know the one..). In Australia would be good, but I would pay for a KNOWN UNMOLESTED SET that I can use for my tests, or if I’m convinced they are good enough, fit them to my bike.
I’ll buy or borrow a set and pay the postage each way for a suitable set.
If y’all have any questions I’ll answer, but here is a rough short video showing the concept.
