Glue

Broke the rear turn signal off on a 2013 V7. What’s the best glue for the black plastic by the nut? Super glue?

Best to use a glue that's specifically for plastics/ABS egs.Qbond and "Loctite Super Glue All Plastics".

Depends what its made of. Likely either ABS or Delrin. If its the latter than nothing works except melting it back together. For ABS a solvent glue is best but good ones are hard to find now that you can’t get methylene chloride anymore. There are some CAs now made for plastics. They may be your only choice now.

We need a picture or something to judge it better. Maybe JB Weld would be good.

You can but try. Don't hold your breath though.
That indicator mounting is commonly used on Italian and some BMW bikes; have had quite a few broken ones before and ended up just replacing them, where required.

Thats probably ABS plastic. Its best repaired by plastic welding the piece back on. If you dont have a proper plastic welder, you can get by with a soldering iron. They sell plastic welding "rod" for different plastics. There is a product called fiberflex that can be used when you are not 100% sure what type of plastic it is. It works with almost all plastics.

I am pretty sure that the plastic is Polypropylene or HD Polyethylene, neither of which glue at all well, they are Low Surface Energy plastic and chemically inert. I would suggest trying to splint the joint, if you can insert a thin wall tube of Aluminium, Copper or similar and then using JB Weld where you can to plug the two halves together. The Loctite glue shown above may do as well
Steve

OK, I just went out to the shed and checked - the housing is Polypropylene. There is a lot of information on the web about PP glues including the Loctite Plastic Bonding system but note that most if not all of the examples you see have a large, smooth bonding surface, you don't.

Difficult to get a strong repair on that.

You could try drilling through the 2 pieces and inserting some 'pins' to strengthen the bond before gluing? Use thin steel pins, my preference is stainless TIG welding wire.

But I suspect it probably won't last too long before breaking again.

The glueing process is a temporary fix, I’ve been there and done that.
Replacing the old parts are your best option.
Because the glued one will fall back  off and probably at the worst time, like on a trip with the guys and you’ll get off your bike at a great restaurant and low and behold there will be a dangling turn signal.

These are probably a closer match for the V7 and if replaced as a pair should look OK..

Perhaps a used pair of Guzzi ones:

Back on topic..
A tube of Loolifl 496 has arrived today - guess what that's a copy of? I'm gonna try it out on a section of split rear mudguard (V7 Classic) and one of the cars mudflaps. It was cheap and nothing ventured..
[I likely have a broken indicator from a F650GS/Laverda/Triumph that I can try it out on, purely in the interest of curiosity.]

I quite agree.  The vibration and sun aging that turn signals are subjected to means they never last more than a few years (except the ones used on Harleys...they are metal!) I've had to replace them on Kawasaki's, Buell's, Moto Guzzi's, it doesn't matter the brand.  Glue is very temporary at best.
