I met Gus at this weekends AHRMA race at INDE Motorsports Ranch in Wilcox AZ. Super good guy and still flying tearing it up at 78 years old!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is that taped to the seat?

I'm curious about that also. I was wondering if he raced on top of a bunch of phone books? He doesn't look that short...

Thanks for posting the cool photos, Turin. I have never been to the track in Willcox, even though I live only a "stones throw" from there. Its heartwarming to see an older guzzisti tearing it up at the track, on such a cool racing machine.

There was a bunch of other really cool racebikes. There was a little of everything. The only think I like better than looking at old motorcycles is watching them race! The racing was a blast. Walt Fulton and Dave Roper put on one heck of a show on their Aermacchi 350s. Andrew Gray put up one heck of a fight on his '76 Lemans going up against a really tricked out 90's Ducati and then a beast of a KZ1000.
The sidecar guys are a breed of their own.
