’98 V11 EV Service manual
« on: June 11, 2026, 05:33:37 PM »
What is a good source for an English version of a Service Manual / Shop Manual for my ’98 EV?  I don’t know how to get the fuel tank off to change the fuel filter.  The fuel system is confusing me from what I can see with the tank slightly raised.  It looks like a large fuel line is connected to the upper frame tube.  If I can get the tank off then I can do a trace out of the fuel line to better understand it and replace any suspect lines before a leak develops when I’m in the the middle off nowhere.

Your post brings back memories of the bulletin board that preceded Wildgoose Chase site back in 98. One of the first discussions I participated in was how to remove the tank. It's great today to have the manuals available, and kudos to the posters with the info.
Here is the condensed version. Remove bolt holding tank down under the seat. Remove fuel line at petcock. Lift tank slightly to find the 2 electrical connections on the left frame under the tank, one to petcock, and one to the low fuel sender. Disconnect them. You don't want to reverse these when installing tank so I mark them. If reversed it'll burn out the low fuel sender.
Now lift up the back of the tank and reach up in under it bout half way and you'll feel a small hose coming from under the tank. Pull it off. This hose is to drain any water that may accumulate at the fuel cap. Lift tank back a few inches, enough to get access and remove the two hose coming off the front of the tank. One is a fuel hose and the other is an evacuation hose to the canisters. Notice a small "tip" over valve on the smaller evacuation hose and when reinstalling make sure it's vertical. Now tank should lift off. Be aware of two rubber pads on the frame that the tank sits on. That may want to slip off. Look at the bottom of your tank and you'll see how it'll fit back on to them. Reverse order to install. Good luck.

It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

The Cadre MG dealer in Cincinnati, Ohio has all the service manuals for pretty much all Guzzis on their website. If Cadre ain't got it you don't need it as the saying goes
