Solo seat, V7 E5+, now available...
« on: June 11, 2026, 03:28:33 PM »
Moto Guzzi part number 2S002381. Looks like the previous OEM generations, but fits the new latch location. Around $229.00. Just got one from AF1. Very nice!

Looks OK but I would rather have a paint matched plastic cover.

Do you find it more or less comfortable than the stock seat?

I’ve never understood why Guzzi OEM seats are reasonably priced but then they go off the deep end with everything else.

I will say I was shocked when I ordered the V7 OEM chin spoiler/abbreviated belly pan for my 2013 V7R and it was $19.00.

Did around 100 miles on the solo seat. Comfort wise.... ummm... I am a bit surprised. It IS more comfortable that the OE seat!
I know they don't advertise it as such, or provide any details as to what may be different, but yes it really does seem to provide better support.
Maybe it's the fabric that's thicker or maybe they spec a different foam.
Don't know, but for me it indeed is more comfortable. Pleasant surprise!

So I'm the self-proclaimed Mr. Smallblock Seats.

It's because I've spent the last almost 14 years riding mostly smallblocks and have gone through 6-7 seats.

Here's my ranking from Worst - to - Best

1. THE WORST - Stock MKI Stone seat
2. Almost as bad - Stock MKIII Carbon Dark seat
3. Still awful - OEM accessory comfort Gel seat
4. OEM seat built up 3 inches - great seat, awesome leg room but almost too much and changed other ergos.
5. Surprisingly good - OEM Cafe classic/racer seat
6. Corbin Gunfighter & Lady - awful name, decent seat. My mistake was ordering it in Carbon Fiber look leather. Loses points for roughness
7. Corbin Solo Gunfighter seat - still a stupid name - awesome seat!

So what I'm saying is, that at least for me, there's something extra comfy about the solo seats and even the OEM solo offering was better than a lot of other seats. I actually think it might have been a difference in narrowness because of the seat shape that makes it work so well. But I dunno.

My "go to" for seats has pretty much always been Corbin. BUT, they do not have any offerings for the V7 E5+, and given low demand they may not get around to making them for quite a while.

I can definitely confirm that my new solo seat IS more comfortable that the stock OE seat. For me, it's really darn good and I don't feel the need to improve it.  :thumb:

Is it any taller? This is the one bike that I want about 1-1 1/2" more height.

It MAY feel be a tiny bit taller, but that would be due to it having a (seemingly) flatter profile creating that effect. When I did a rough measure of the old seat vs. the solo (from floor to seat surface) they were essentially the same (fractions of an inch difference, if that, and could be attributable to "measuring error").

kev has one of my old Corbin seats.  I had them make it 3/4 inch taller.  When I got a second one I asked for 1 1/2 inch taller.  They did it but mentioned that's the max for that seat pan.  It was perfect.

Having been in the seat cover and modification business for years ( now retired from that) and taken apart many different OEM seats my .02 is save your money from the OEM's.  It's junk foam.  "Comfort" just means more crap.  Gel-forget it.  Leave it in the sun for a few hours.  And, it doesn't work.  YES, I KNOW a few have these products and lord knows how it works for them.  Think of windscreens.  A few seem to have everything fall into place but most of us (read these forums!) are left wanting.

I got the Corbins before I started making seats but Corbin owners were my number one customers by a wide margin for waterproof covers.  Leather doesn't like to get wet, stay wet, and leaks thru the stitching.  What's that?  A waterproof piece of cheap plastic under the cover to keep the foam dry?  Well, then, your breathable leather seat stop breathing.

Try Seth Laam, Bill Mayer Saddles, and several of the other regional guys around.  Ignore this if you didn't ask.

I had Bill Meyers make one 1 1/2" higher for my 2017 V7III as soon as I got it. It's been great for over 30000 miles but won't fit the 26 v7. There is a guy in Sahuarita Az near me that does seats and he re did a Seth Lamb one for my buddies 765 Rs Triumph this winter. He loves it. So I will have him do one when I get there in Jan 27 if I can't find something else first. Your right about the jell. It's like sitting on a frying pan on high heat.
