All,

After much consideration, I am thinking about selling my V-7 Sports.  I am realizing that with a multitude of motorcycles awaiting my attention, 2 young boys and a fairly demanding work schedule that I can not do it all.  These Sports were chronicled in an old thread that you can view here:

http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=22744.0

As the caretaker of these neat machines, it is pretty important (to me) to make sure that they go to the right person who will do the proper thing with them instead of just letting them sit like I have.

The 1000cc bike (pictured at the end of the thread) has some of the original parts back on it from it's earlier days - 40mm carbs and custom manifolds, megaphones, etc.  I took it to a show and wanted it to be as period to the pictures as I could.

The other Sport is in bits but is painted the same as the one pictured except that it says "worlds quickest Guzzi 135 MPH" instead of what the 1000 says.

There are lots of other bits that go with these including a pile of "offerings to the gods of speed" which would mean that you would more than likely need to come to my house with a truck.

So...I put it out there.  Let's talk before I come to my senses.

I do have a minimum number in mind but we will need to talk first.  I hate to be like that but I am just trying to be a good steward for the bikes.

I think Blackie's Guzzi would've been a big hit at the Las Vegas auction last week.

I'm in agreement - with provenance and documents, that's an auction item if you find one which will allow a reserve and does not have onerous fees and complications.

I sold the Dondolino years ago at the Vegas Auction and was very lucky that it ended up in the Barber collection.  These bikes need a lot of work...I don't typically see those types of bikes in the auction.  If I wanted to squeeze all the money out of them, that might be the best bet but it is more important to me to see that they go to the proper person.  If nobody is interested, I will keep them in line but sadly believe they will sit for quite  a while.  I also have my Lemans racebike to revive, Eldo sidecar rig & R75/5 to service for sale, 66 HD CRTT GP bike to restore, Pantah, , 53 Indian, and the list goes on.

On a side note, if anyone has the book "Burt Munro - A Scrap Book of His Life" by Donaldson, one of the Guzzi's is featured with Burt and Glenn on page 222.  Someone needs to return these bikes to the salt.

Cheers,

Well, I guess I am coming to my senses since there isn't much interest.  I will chronicle the rebirths once I get to them.

I would open it up to a bigger audience than WG.  Most here probably think they're worth $1,500 each.
