What color is the bodywork on your bike?

As usual, exceptions seem to be the rule at Guzzi !!!

Geeze Rocker - I should think that my not noting the color would be interpreted as the only damn color they should be....

RED 'course. :boozing:

Some day, if I ever get the house paint overspray off my Sport, I'll likely match the lowers to body with one of the Ferrari reds.

Here it goes again. Just moved a little further south to Hialeah from Fort Lauderdale. Oh, and now all the money.

What is a "Zook" front end.  The fork tubes and lowers, brakes look the same as my Bassa takeoffs on my Aluminium.

Marzocchi.

The Daytona 1000 and Sport 1100 carb had a version of the 1980s vintage Marzocchi M1 41.7mm forks.

The forks were also used on Ducatis in the late '80s and early '90s, before they went to inverted ones.

The forks are different from the ones on your Cal Bassa.

My 95's are silver, more's the pity.

As to all spine frames being "Special"... couldn't agree more though some wane in their special-ness...
Like the ones using electro-metering induction with computer machines.
The ones with too many valves.
Oh, and the ones with the forks wrong-way-'round necessitating those odd ball mudguards.
Too, the ones where I can't see through the pork-chops.

Todd.

Hey!  Those are special too! I don't care if I can't see thru the pork chops, and the WP fork works pretty well
I think having a cush drive, a robust helical gear transmission, and Marchesini 17" wheels on both ends makes up for any tendency to "wane in their special-ness"

I was a little encouraged seeing that 2300 mile example '95 on ebay with an $8000 starting price.
Made me feel a little better about what I paid for my 5,770 mile one-owner '97 with full Staintune

Mine is getting the 18 yr old original tires replaced (T30, thanks for the tip Mike) and I ordered a set of intake sleeves to replace the ones that are beginning to crack from age.
All new fluids and a TB sync, should be in good shape just before the big El Nino winter snowpack buries Colorado

Just got this message from the Kid.. slightly edited.

Emotional day with Spot yesterday. New pegs arrived in the mail. Installed pegs, seat and tailsection. Finally cop a squat, feels really cool   Well shit, looks like the left clip on is bent.  Didn't see that. Oh well, just more money. Press forward. Lets check the valves. WTF?? Motor is locked up  Nothing in the pan, can't see anything in the cylinder. Going to bed.  This morning after not sleeping well, decided to pull the head and see just how bad it is. Are you kidding me?  Sunflower seeds. In a nutshell, yeah I know, really bad pun, nothing mechanical wrong. No ridges in the cylinders and can still see the cross hatching in the walls. Looks new. 20 bucks in head gaskets and one sleepless night. Problem solved. I think the Belle (his dawg) and I will go chase some squirrels

it is....especially on a carb'd bike.

on EFI you'd think they could maybe push the butterfly open and pack the intake full, which would get into the cylinder head and if a valve was open - the combustion chamber.

getting past a throttle slide would take a Houdini mouse

Maybe the slide was jammed open at some time during it's sojourn in the shed? But.... it has K&Ns on it. Up the exhaust? Dunno. Some things aren't made to be understood..  Sure was a better find than discovering valve pieces or a stuck rod bearing, though.
