Sonny Angel big block head guards
« on: August 13, 2016, 12:39:19 AM »
Hi,
Sonny Angel use to fab up various parts. Does anybody have a pair of his head guards, would like to see xamples/picture. I have a pair on a LeMans that came out of his shop and they are etched/have his name/signature in the corner.

Thanx,
Clay

I had a set on an 850T but I sold the bike about 10-years ago and the old photos I have of it don't show the guards very well. BTW, you say you have a set, then what's the need for pics?

Thanx for response.......on the pix, I was wondering if he made different styles, and if he signed/etched his name in all of them. They arent the prettiest head guards I have ever seen.

Wow - he was my go-to guy for my Eldo back when high tech was a telephone. It's a different world now, can you share a picture with us ?

If you don't want the, I'll take them
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

My wife and I stopped in to see him heading North from Argentina, nice guy, a legend, and nice old world shop. Enjoyed the banter, photo me on the left, Sonny far right

One more Sonny Angel pic.

While visiting a close friend in Phoenix, I rented a car and drove to Delmar to visit my older brother.  One of our forum members had suggested visiting Sonny's shop if I had the opportunity.  My older brother, never a motorcycle guy, suggested he and I drive down together to the shop.  Surprise of surprises ...... we had a terrific visit with Sonny and his brother Ralph.  We talked Bonneville racing, his experience with Moto Guzzi over the years.  My non-biking brother was totally taken with Sonny's motorcycle stories that took place over several years.

One of the best memories I have of my oldest brother and me doing something together that we both enjoyed.

John passed away in Nov of 2014, but this pic and others from that trip are memories I'll never forget, and that I'm happy we captured on film.

Left to right - My brother John, Sonny, me.

I rode his demo bike with that manifold on it - I thought my dual carb Eldo had more power, but I'm sure that there were options to address that.

That needs a turbo on the end.

Yes, I believe he made them to fit various years and models which were different styles.  His name was etched into the ones I had on my 850-T
