Looking at fitting steel timing gears to my Norge 1200 2V to replace the timing chain setup.It's possible that aftermarket (steel) timing gears designed for the Sport 1100i will fit onto later 1100 and 1200 2V engines like the Breva, Norge and Griso.I need to know whether the centre distances of the cam, crank and oil pump shafts of the Norge / Breva 2V engines the same as the earlier big block engines like the Sport 1100 carb and Sport 1100i ? All other dimensions are looking promising.I'd be surprised if the crank - cam centre has changed over the years but perhaps the crank - oil pump shaft centre distance has changed due to different oil pump designs. Gear vs. Trochoidal pump, for example.Comment or advice welcomed.John.
