Shorter rear shoks for convert
« on: April 10, 2015, 11:17:49 AM »
What kind of shorter rear shock is available? I did a search and saw where Mtberio mentioned a 12.5 in on his vintage but I could find nothing on a convert. I am thinking I would have to lower the front forks also so as not to affect handling.

What's the issue with the stockers?

You might be able to move the upper shock mount point forward a little, which would have the effect of lowering the shock.  Maybe make a post on a piece of flat bar, drill the flat bar once to go over the bike's existing post, and then another for a second fastening bolt?

Be careful with shock length.  You can stress the ujoints and make the rear drive fluid migrate into the ujoint boot.

Rk, Since I have NPH my legs are not as strong as they should be. Exercise does not seem to help much.I thought that if I could be more flat footed  I would have more control.

You might also try shorter rims and/or lower aspect tires . . .

What is the stock length?
