Marcus: pole..... again. Rossi needs to pull the rabbit out of the helmet.
Best surprise is Suzuki actually has some speed.
I'd really love to see an Italian bike/rider on the top step.

Right now it's raining @ Road Atlanta so the MA races are delayed but will run after the rain  subsides, so you can still watch them on FansChoiceTV if you wish to when they get going.  ;-T

For those of you who don't know results, and will watch it later...  Worth being surprised.

What a great race, I was on the edge of my chair the last few laps.

Appears older and wiser still has a rabbit or two left in his helmet. Would love to see him crowned at the end of the season.  :bow
Aside from the big bikes; anyone paying attention to the up and comers in Moto3? Some great riders in the making.

Yeah, the MotoGP race was better than most and I liked seeing the old guy Rossi winning again...........but the 2 WSBK races as usual were even more entertaining!  ;-T   Both races, 5 racers (4 brands) going at it from start to finish!   Jonathan Rea won both but you didn't know who was going to win until the end.  Kawasaki, Honda, Aprilia, Ducati battling it out all the way @ Assen in Holland.  8)  There was even a rear tire, front tire contact but no one crashed.

Marquez caused that incident and it's payback for all the times he's gotten away with aggressive incidents in past races to other racers.

guess I wrote that wrong.. I was not blaming Rossi.. the rules declared it a racing incident and no fault layed.. even if MM didn't fall Rossi clearly had the speed with that XXhard tire to beat him.
the tire actually won that race.

Interestingly Lorenzo had the same rear tire as Rossi but said after the race he couldn't feel confident with it like Rossi did.

I really think that MM got a big dose of his own medicine. And he tried to pull that shit on The Doctor and got his ass kicked.  Simple.

They could've reviewed it and should've docked MM 5 points.  I like settling it on the track.

The guy's still on the top of his game.  2 win and 3rd for three races.  If the Yamaha wan't giving up 15 horses on the top end like the Duc and Honda, it wouldn't be close.

Just watched the Moto America hour long coverage of US Superbike and Superstock on CBS sports network.   Unfortunately its the races are edited to fit the time slot, Superbike and Superstock run together!   Production value was quite high, racing was pretty darn good, just hope they get more time to show full races.  Aprilia finished 2nd in super stock!

Sorry fellas , Moto gp isn't really about HP , Lorenzo and Rossi both won titles on under powered Yamahas . Rossi may have in fact outsmarted the others by running the ultra hard rear tire , but let's not get all excited yet . This has happened before , a rider gets hot at the beginning of a season , I'm still not convinced that Marquez won't retaliate .

  Dusty

Marquez was retaliating after his body block failed and then he ran his front wheel into Rossi rear when Rossi banked right for the turn and knock him on his ass.  He could've settled for 2nd place points butttttt nnnooooooooooo!  He wanted to block the Doc for a greedy win.

Rossi has a fighting chance.  Right now he's riding better than everyone else.  Dovi is runnning really well too.  MM needs a team mate that can run interference for him. Until MM gets one, he's a new world.

Also interestingly, Marquez said he changed to the hard, rather than very hard, tire because he thought it was the only way he could beat Rossi.

I think they showed partial parts of the races to force fans like us to actually GO to the races instead of just watching them on TV @ home a week later.  If more fans don't show up @ the races than the last few years MA won't stick around.  The RR industry needs more serious participation like it used to have before it get's back to what it used to be.  I want it to be like it used to be and am going to participate as a fan @ the close enough races like I used to.  :)

Arizona Wayne, I agree the fan based has all but disappeared in North America. Television, as you point out, may be a large part of it.
Me, I don't have TV in the house. I pay Dorna good dollars to watch MotoGP online, I hit Fanchoice for all AMA asphalt.
The biggest thing I see missing is entry level sport. And that is our, the fans, fault. We seemingly only want to watch the newest, brightest, fastest, biggest.
There's no base for Mom and Dad to connect to. No place left for Nicky and his kin to earn their entry.
600cc is not entry level racing. Even in production.
I love watching the squids in Moto3 (the same ones who'd wax my A-- all over the table) who have grown out of race series on much smaller machines for much younger riders. That base may still exist in motocross on this continent but it appears to have burnt itself up as far as asphalt. Wish it weren't so.
To substantiate my view: where is Fast Freddie based these days? Can you identify the anthems of Spain and Italy?
