Upcoming space weather (ngc)
« on: April 20, 2015, 02:49:12 PM »
Over the 21st and 22st there is a good chance for auroras.  A conjunction of the moon and Venus is underway with the moon rising toward Venus at dusk.  Also, the Lyrid meteor shower peaks 22nd 23nd.  So if you've got clear skies there's a lot to see.

Love to look at God's spacey creation on a clear night.  Someday I hope to move to some place with dark skies and more clear nights.

For now...its rare.  Our cabin in Colorado at 9300 feet has amazing sky views.  Often I will lay out a sleeping bag and let my eyes adjust and just watch the show.
Lots of satellites, and meteors and such, but not horizons as we are totally surrounded by high mountains.  Working up a visit for June...looking forward to it.
