well, i went and did some mods to the bike for the '15 season. Part practical part cosmetic. Ran into one issue upon reassembly. When the throttle is released, it returns beyond it's "stop", and has about an extra 1/2 inch of travel past where it should.
Opening it up again, (sorry no photo's), there is ridge in the control housing that the throttle sleeve (inside the grip) hits, limiting it's travel. That ridge has apparently worn, as did, I suppose, the edge of the sleeve that hits against it.
so in other words if you were to turn the throttle away from you, as if to decelerate, expecting it to stop hard, it doesn't. And then when twisting to accelerate it should immediately engage the throttle and rev the engine, but you've got a bit of slop/free travel before acceleration begins. It's easy to compensate for, only comes into play when you're at idle, but I want to fix it.
So ...questions
What are the correct terms for the parts I need?
whose got them and wants to move them? (Curtis?)
2000 Jackal, original controls with the starter and kill switch.
