I was able to remove and reseal the phase sensor on my 1200 Sport. Other than being in a rather awkward location, the job went smoothly enough, though next time I'd also get a new gasket for the plastic breather junction (that bolts to the block) I removed to make it easier to reach the sensor. After a 50 mile flog, things seem to be oil-tight regardless.
Question - if one were to lose or destroy the shim pack upon removal, how would one go about measuring the air gap to determine what thickness a new shim pack should be?
