LeMans: Lightweight tubeless rims?
« on: May 17, 2015, 12:59:06 AM »
G'day,

been having all sorts of fun and games with my newly acquired LeMans. In preparation for tomorrows roadworthy I've lost a side cover (found it), had a rear shock free itself from the top mount (lost the bloody retaining plate & was thinking why the f*&# me & why now), replaced a speedo cable (pinched from my 750 project) & tyres, rerouted the throttle cables & got them off the cylinders and now pray to the gods that I pass muster tomorrow.

Is it normal for a rear shock to slide off its bush?

Balancing my front rim I noticed it took a lot of weight & it's probably a pipe dream but...

Is there a source for lightweight tubeless rims for the LeMans?

Thanks (& no I don't want to sell it and get a GSXR)

You can buy a really nice motorcycle for the price of two EPM wheels.

Thanks all,

It seems there are a few companies reproducing the old rims again.

They're not cheap but given the price of bikes down under not mind bogglingly expensive either.

If anyone has some second hand wheels they're thinking of moving on I'm all ears!

Cheers,

Mike

They're approximately $2500 with shipping to the States. Including bearings and drive spline.

Astralites seem the way to go (at least for what I'm thinking).

Anyone have the front and rear hub dimensions? It seems they would be making them up from scratch.

Cheers,

Mike
