New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
A link to the auction would help drive interest.
I'd set the reserve at $500 and see what happens.
Parts bike till the title issue is resolved. Caveat emptor.
I'm sure you're right in your state Tom, but here in NC, once it's running you can get a title by filling out some forms, getting an inspection, and buying a title bond for $100. As long as the inspection doesn't turn up any evidence of it being stolen, you can immediately get the registration card and license plate. The new title comes in a few weeks. Checking the VIN before closing the deal is always a good idea, of course. Not that having a title wouldn't make it more desirable to me.
A TX bill of sale may not work for NC. Probably would have to be notarized too.
Or better, no reserve. If you "want it gone", as stated, that's the best way to get the most people interested. Many people who have bought bikes on eBay (like me) don't bid on "reserve" auctions, because we're not interested in the seller's opinion of what it's worth, we want to buy it at the market price. If the seller isn't interested in selling at the market price, I'm not interested in bidding. All that being said, I'm glad it's been pointed out here. This is a good place for a project bike to be advertised, because someone who doesn't know much about Guzzis is unlikely to be interested at any price ....lannis
At the same I won't pay going rate for a no paperwork vehicle...
I've sold 7 vehicles/bikes on Ebay. For the causual seller the risk is too great just to throw it out there for bidders. There's always the chance of just a few low bids despite what similar bikes brought in ....
