V7 Record Kit mirrors?
« on: December 23, 2013, 11:40:31 PM »
I had both the plastic mirrors break off in less than 1500 miles.  I contacted Guzzi but all they did was give me the part # for replacements.
For the cost of the Record Kit I'd expect better quality.  Anybody else have the same problem?
I may just switch to bar end mirrors...

I don't know about the records kit mirrors but it probably would look better with bar end mirrors. From the few pictures I looked at with the kit mirrors they are too high up for my taste. They also seem to be mounted to a very delicate area of the fairing. It has me wondering if over time with the constant stress from the wind on the mirror will it cause cracking.

I know that I'm reviving an old thread, but, I finally got around to installing my Record kit fairing, and was about to install the mirrors when I discovered it came with TWO right mirrors, and no left mirror.

I also don't like the mirrors it came with anyway.   Has anyone come up with an alternative, like, maybe a sport bike mirror that will fit?

I hate bar ends, BUT that was my first instinct when I read your other thread...

I may end up going that route.   I've go a CRG Lane-Splitter bar-end.    It doesn't suck.
I'll get the left mirror that I paid for and try them.   If I like the location of them on the fairing, then I'll try to source some other mirrors that fit.  Otherwise, I might get a pair of CRG's bar ends for it.

What is wrong with bar ends? Unlike the OEM mirrors I can now see behind me.
But I also have a lower rise on my handlebars so I was getting a terrific view of my upper arms.

I don't like where they place the mirrors. I like having them up high where they're closer to my peripheral and it takes less of a glance to check.

Just a preference thing. Not bagging on guys who like em.

I ended up putting a set of these on, they mounted in the original holes, etc.
Wish they were a little larger but not bad!
