That guy sure likes his BMW
« on: September 06, 2015, 11:38:24 AM »
At least it appears that way judging from the number of emblems on his bike. I was coming back from breakfast and ended up behind a guy on his GS. I could see two emblems on his side cases, 2 more on his license plate, 2 on his top case and 2 on his helmet. From the left side I could count three, but there may have been more as that was just a quick glance. Assuming there were at least 3 matching ones on the right side, that would make 14. I'm guessing there had to be at least 1 visible from the front, so 15 total, maybe more.

That's a lot of emblems.

...judging from the number of emblems on his bike...

If that's how we're judging, I better go put some more eagles on my Moto Guzzis. I've got some catching up to do.

If you get tired of doing 2000-piece jigsaw puzzles, or building ships in a bottle, try counting the number of buttons and switches on a new, full-zoot Gold Wing.

There was one at the Guzzi National, and I counted 54 switches and still wasn't sure I'd found them all .....

LOL, yep.  But, nowdays beemers don't use a lot of switches (even though they still have a lot).  They have a little roller type thing and buttons on the left bars to communicate with the computer dash and integrated GPS.  My brother has had his 2014 GS for over a year now and is just about figured out all the functions.

Oh, and, no he doesn't have that many badges.  He got his cases from an aftermarket place (Tourtech maybe?).  But, his jacket does have quite a few (4 last time I counted).  Maybe that makes up for it  :)

I just noticed that mine only has two showing, decals I got from MG on each of the ammo cans.  The ones on the tank sides are hidden by the fairing.  I guess I should fix that.  Maybe have some custom ones made up.

The Honda NT folks used to get questions about the bike being a "new" smaller BMW.  So one guy went out and had red bmw roundels made up with HMW on them.  They cause quite a bit of confusion to the beemer guys.  Another 'graduated' from his Honda NT to a Yamaha so had a yellow roundel made up.

My nephew bought a big 1811 cc Indian. I don't remember the number, but there are Indian logos all over that thing.
