Scary Centauro

After doing research here & elsewhere I acquired a '97 yellow Centauro recently. I've had many bikes including past Guzzi's & always admired the Centauro. (I know many Guzzistis never have. Oh well, to many people to mak'em all happy which makes the Centauro more unique.) Since having it set up & riding it like a sane man all I can say is, I LOVE IT! I know, limited parts availability but every bike faces that. Just some sooner than others. I continue to peruse different sites & see all the quirks associated with different model Guzzi's and wonder why so many Guzzistis are so VEWEE, VEWEE, AFWAID.

Welcome! Many can't handle that pull.
I owned one, I know.

Though I'm new to Guzzis, I always Liked the Centauro, and wondered why it wasn't more popular.

That, and the aluminum timing gears. It was never designed as a typical 200000 mile Guzzi engine. Oh, there are several practically unobtainium parts if you neglect the timing belts.
That said.. I love Centauros.

I jumped in also and pick the new Centauro up this weekend. I'm sure I'll have some questions too. Dave

It took me quite awhile to get up the nerve to change the original belts on the Daytona and in the end it took way less time than I had anticipated. In the meantime the belts I purchased for the job get a year older sitting on the shelve waiting for me to get it together. Don't wait.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.....keg dog, I don't understand your reference to pull. If you mean torque & speed I'm good with it having had several big block Asian sports. dsr dave, enjoy your new Centauro!
