"....It ran great till wiring problems due to previous owners wiring work ...."

What IS it about Cal IIIs that makes otherwise perfectly reasonable people turn into drunken monkeys when it comes to bodging up the wiring?    :thewife:

I think Rich Maund should get this, he's already well into fixing exactly the same issues on his Cal III, he's up the learning curve and would have this sorted in no time .... !

I can see a good fly and ride here, I wish I had the time.

Actually I should look at the pictures first, can't see them from here.

Too much work to do for a fly n ride. Lots of wiring and assembly work tbere. Someone has installed a A Dyna III. Might be some problems there. I have a feeling the seller might be responsible for some of the wiring problems.

But he already has the tank off for you, get the owner to put the battery on charge, I can see someone like Rodykyl  rolling out the driveway in a couple of hours max.

On a second look at the pictures
Carbs could be gummed up though but that makes the electrics simpler.

I think most anything with a touring style and of a certain age ends up having a couple-three generations of "tourers" adding and subtracting electronics enough to eventually present as a wiring-web. This one's just about old enough to have suffered dearly at the hands of JC Whitney catalog scourers.
