so,i am missing the tank strap battery tray, battery straps.my tank is loose.how is that whole thing set up? can anybody make a photo?
does the tank strap connect to the battery holder ?.i basically need to get the tank straped,it keeps jumping around
my parts manual tells me there is two battery straps, front and rear and tank strap.i have the plate 14418200 ,i don't have the battery tray(
i think i don't need that),but how are these straps connected together,and it seems like i can't do tankstrap 14102600 only,is there a hook
somewhere?
thanks

I can't upload photos at this point because I'm typing from my phone, but you have 3 straps total as you said. 2 for the battery, and 1 for the tank.
The tank strap lower part hooks to the horizontal frame tube (In front and above battery). If you look under that tube, you should see the hook.
The lower part of the front strap for the battery hooks to the hook on the battery plate you mention.
The lower part of the rear battery strap hooks to the frame. This part of the frame is flat and is the part where the lower end of the plastic mud flap connects to. If you look closely, You'll see the hook.
The two battey straps hook togherher at their metal end clips. They hook almost like a magic trick... I'll try and post a photo tomorrow.
The rubber battery tray is probably not needed especially if you are using a sealed battery (no acid spils), but I would still use one as it will act as a nice surface for the battery to sit and secure better.
Hope that helps.

In my experience the battery straps aren't necessary. The least I've never used them. The battery doesn't move, it is heavy and barely fits into the space anyway. Though as you noticed the tank will if it is not strapped down.

If it like the "T" series bikes the wire loop on the bottom of the thank hold down strap connects to the front side of the battery tray and the the upper loop hooks to the back of the tank. Fo rthe battery tray I went with a dimensionally smaller modern SLA battery so the battery hold downs did not work. After much thinking and looking at different hold downs to modify I simply slid a 24" tie strap under the battery tray around the battery, cinch it down and clip the end off.

These are some photos I had on my computer and I just marked the areas that will hopefully point you in the right direction. The circles are related to the battery straps, the arrow is related to the tank strap.
Bottom photo is pre-restoration of my G5, top is post.
