« on: September 21, 2015, 04:00:21 PM »
Hi, I've checked the manual and it says 0.016 agip rotra sae 80/w/140 and 0.010 agip rocal aso/r.

What should I use in plain English, something I can get from the local car accessory shop.?

Do this:

For the oil, use:

- Bel-Ray Thumper Gear Saver Transmission Oil 80W-85 (.54 fl/oz)

For the aso/r use:

- Harpers Molybdenum Disulfide (.34 fl/oz)

Not sure if the fl/oz numbers are correct (quickie conversion), but the oil types should apply. Also wait for someone else to reply, it's an oil thread so I'm sure we're all gonna participate. These are threads we all wait for!

I'm pretty sure the oil volume should be more than a fraction of one ounce!

If the seals are new/er Redline heavy shockproof. If using conventional oil any quality 85w/90 gear oil in the proper amount w/ 20cc's of Molybdenum Disulfide will work a treat.

And what the heck is a furlong anyway ?

1 furlong=1/8 of a mile.       55 mph=147,840 furlongs per fortnight

So ... Imperial mile , or 'Murican ?  So maybe the NHRA should use two furlongs instead of 1/4 mile . Wait , now that they only run a thousand feet for the fuel cars , what is that in furlongs
