I still use it. Went to it when imageshack, which I used to much prefer, changed it's format to a phone ap. I do find it as slow as a wet week to operate though and would prefer a better FREE one.

I'm developing a hate for Photobucket.  This evening, all I wanted to do was something I've done several times in the past with no trouble ....... create a folder for 4-5 pics.  I'd enter the title, enter more description re the contents of the folder, save it.  Then, when I wanted to move pics to the new folder, viola!  No new folder!

I use it rarely but never open it on my Macbook, it has some dirty tricks when I do.. at work I never have a problem on their Mac's.
still I've migrated over to SmugMug.

Yes phootobucket does add a cookie + opens its own full page pop up.They manage do it in spite of all my apps preventing every other site from adding a pop up. After I use photobucket I copy the URL of the pop up and dig it out of cookies and delete it.
The other day I decided to reset Safari on my wife's Mac. It had 5000 cookies. It running much better now. Gotta go back and add a few sites that have passwords but emptying cache isn't always enough. I use 2 browsers Safari and Firefox. Most of my surfing is done on Firefox and I delete cookies everyday and clean it out. Even then you can find stuff in your "library" folder on a Mac that someone has managed to attach and follow you.

:1: I have hundreds on photobucket on the Aero engine and Lario rehab thread. Photobucket is getting more aggravating all the time.
For as much as I'm paying for it, they should..
What?

I hope you have all your photos on a storage device at home, and make regular backups of that device.  DVDs are nice because they're easy to store at a different location, so something like a fire can't destroy everything.

Assuming you already have your photos under your own control, you can leave a hosting site like Photobucket, but all the photos there that you've posted in places like this board will disappear.  To get them back, you'd have to relink them one at a time to your new hosting site.  It would probably be better to abandon Photobucket, leaving your photos there, and start using a new site from that point on.

Trusting someone else's system to your store photos, or any other important information safely is a big mistake, be it a "Cloud", a photo hosting site, or any other system you don't have control over.  The hosting sites are only good for storing copies of your photos and letting you link to them on various Internet sites, or letting friends easily view copies of your photos.

If you really need to get all your photos from Photobucket, you should be able to go to "your bucket" and use the "download album" get to a copy of everything onto your computer.

I still use Photobucket, but have often thought they made their services more difficult so that its' users
will migrate to their non-free service, Photobucket Plus

What's the group's opinion of Flickr?
Some folks use it with what appears to be great results,
although I don't know how much of a pita it might be to set up and operate.

I had an issue with our firewall limiting access to Photobucket, so I would have to upload photos from my phone, email myself the link, and post the link here.

PITA, but it was quicker than migrating everything.
