Guzzi Rims Leaking

Sup Fellas

Beautiful day in Southern Louisiana, finally got the old war horse running good and happy. Looked at my rear tire and it looked a little low figured from the temperature change. Got curious because I just had the rear tire mounted at a local shop yesterday and was fine. Well I got out my soap bubbles and around the rim in multiple spots bubbles were coming out from the rim bead. Any ideas fellas?

Also thanks for the help in the forum to help me get the old gal up running again seems like smooth sailing from here.

Rims that have lots of old rubber on rim beads leak air. If the shop did not clean the inside of the rim it will leak.

Should I just mount this tire myself or risk having the retards retry it?

I have seen tubeless tires leak air when the short casting threads fold over and provide a leak path right at the bead. I started cutting them off with nippers before mounting after this happened.

If you can break the bead, just do that and clean up the tire and rim with a stainless toothbrush.

I had a slow leak on my rear tire for weeks while I was on the road. Had new tires installed front and rear at my Guzzi Dealer. When I inquired about the leaks, I was informed that the rear rim had rust around the inside edge and it was cleaned before the new tire was installed. Now the rear tire is holding its' pressure.

If it is leaking around the circumference of the wheel / tire, I would suspect:

1)  some build up around the bead seat of the wheel. ( they didn't scrub the wheel with the little dish scrubber thingy my wife hates that I use then put back...)

2)  they had trouble mounting the tire, ( not warm, didn't use lube...) and just used gorilla force and long leverage on the tire, and mucked up the bead on the tire......

3) or both.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help, guess that is what happens when you bring you tire to a shop and you have to supply the mount adapter for their wheel balance machine.
