Painting my 03 EV tank
« on: October 15, 2015, 01:04:30 PM »
I want to get my blue 03 EV tank painted does anybody have a recommendation of someone to do it?
I would also welcome suggestions on how to do it.  The guys I know who are painters were wary of the chrome tank. If I can give them  idea of the process they might do it.

I'd check the area and find out who's good.

Also, you might check the local VoTech and see if they have an auto body & paint class.  They might do it for the cost of materials.  It might take 'em while to get it "right".  Make sure you can see the instructor's work.

I'd say the first rule of thumb is to not have the guy nervous about chrome do the work.

That said, the factory didn't do too well with it either.  When I had an EV tank repainted the shop commented that the paint had stuck to itself really good, but not to the metal at all.  They peeled it like an egg.
