Yeah, another great game. What a gem by Cueto.  deGrom was good, but looking a little tired, and the Royals made the Mets pay for every mistake.  Oh well, we'll see what happens in New York.

Back to bazeball....

Oh Oh.... Two and O..... Let's go Royals!

BTW... I haven't watched the Mets this year but they look like a quality club, unlike Toronto.

Both of these teams are playing at a high level . Tonight was a bit surprising , the Royals are really hard to get out .

Well you got my attention calling the Jays down . Ya, they played some pretty bad baseball in their series against KC but they won their division . That's the same division the Yankees and Red Sox are in . What the hell's not quality about that ? #**#Phew !!

Just good natured banter probably . Damn , the AL East is tough , and now the NL central is getting really good . Win 98 games and only be a wild card . Heck , Toronto and Tampa Bay can have great seasons and still finish third in the East

Tampa Bay always gave the Jays the pip but not so much this year losing Zorbrist . He's a great player .
I really like KCs chances . Ned Yost used to play for the Vancouver Canadians AAA team way back when they were Milwaukee's farm team . We went to most of the games . I think my mother in law was in love with him , lol . I wish he was managing the Jays ! I'm rooting for him .

Cheers ,

Minor league baseball is alive and well . I had the great pleasure of seeing Ivan Rodriguez play in Tulsa before he began his stellar career in the "show" . Think he was 18 years old , and already there was something special there .

Yeah , Yost has come into his own as a manager , KC did well hiring the man . One thing truly enjoyable during broadcasts are the small in game interviews with the managers , always amazed at how composed and intelligent the good ones are .

I was referring to the Jays behavior, taunting young children, smashing the heck out of a trash can with a ball bat, stuff like that.

Meet the Mets!  Meet the Mets!
Step Right up and Greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies
Bring your wife
Guaranteed to have the Time of your Life!
Because the Mets are really sockin the ball!
Knockin those home runs over the wall.

East side,
West side,
everybody's coming down
to meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town!
Oh, the butcher and the baker and the people on the streets,
where did they go? To MEET THE METS!
Oh, they're hollerin' and cheerin' and they're jumpin' in their seats,
where did they go? To MEET THE METS!
All the fans are true to the orange and blue,
so hurry up and come on down -
'cause we've got ourselves a ball club,
The Mets of New York town!
Give 'em a yell!
Give 'em a hand!
And let 'em know your rootin' in the stand!
Come on and MEET THE METS,
MEET THE METS,
Step right up and greet the Mets!
Bring your kiddies,
bring your wife;
Guaranteed to have the time of your life
because the Mets are really sockin' the ball; knocking those home runs over the wall!

Boys will be boys I guess , certainly emotions running on a little too much testosterone . Rever was picked up late in the season . In a big game like that you'd think the umping would be a little better . I think the trash can was the ump after he got to the dugout , lol !
I must admit I'm not a big fan of the booze bash these clubs have after a win for everyone to see . Wearing goggles and spraying beer around in public . I don't think young kids should see that kind of behavior from their role models . They should keep TV and the press out of it . In Toronto when they beat Texas to advance they where out in the field soaking the fans . I hope they put a lid on it in the future .      Cheers , Steve

The Mets have redefined the word choke. What was tonight, the 3rd game of their 4 losses that they gave up late leads? This deciding game was particularly ugly, 2 in the 9th, 5 more in the 12th.

Winning the World Series is an amazing accomplishment , but in baseball , the players and organization really care about winning the pennant . Any way ,

                                                                                                                        CONGRATULATIONS ROYALS

And for you Mets fans , your club had a great year , good to see the "other" NYC team get some spotlight  :thumb:

What a great win for KC , they deserve it all the way . I've never seen a more determined team and have never seen a team come from behind from the 7th on to win so many times . Unbelievable and could be the start of a new dynasty ! I hope they stick with their guys next year .

Have you heard about the riot in Kansas City last night?
Hundreds of people gathered in the Power and Light District. Fire Marshall had to stop people from going in and redirected them to a riverfront area.
Drinking, fireworks and rabble rousers all over the city.
Did you hear about the riot?
Burning of cars?
Shooting of police?
Looting of businesses?

No, you did not.
Because none of these things happened.
Way to go KC!

Actually we were just talking about the last 1985 series and this one remembering where I was and ironically I was in bed asleep at the end of both series winning games, in 85 and 15.

The whole town is shut down today for the parade, most every school district is closed for it as well. SO we'll see how the rioting goes today. I'll probably be asleep for that as well.
