Minimum miles to commute everyday

Read on different topic where someone didn't like to ride to ride to work 15 miles and let it sit in cold weather.I commute 12 everyday on the V7 Stone.What are the problems with that and is there a minimum you should ride? Does temperature matter?

I think folks are concerned with firing up an engine - especially air cooled - and not running it long enough to sufficiently exchange out any crankcase condensation which may occur.

A watch on your dip stick or a look under your valve covers now and again will clue you in to sludge buildup should your drive be too short or crankcase breather not be up to it.
