Anyone know what the difference is?

My V7 Racer currently has the center stand off of my old V7 Classic.   As Kev M. already alluded in another thread, I will be taking possession of my new-to-me 2014 V7 Special this weekend.    I'd like to add a center stand (and Euro side stand) to it.

So, I'm wondering if it is worthwhile ordering the one for the V7 Racer, and, putting that on my Racer, and moving the "Classic" one that is on it onto the V7 Special.

OR, is the difference so minor that it isn't worth the extra effort.  Obviously, the Classic center stand is working just fine on my Racer.

Can't help ya.

Unless this info tells you anything.

I bought mine from Harpers - they sent something they marked as # 505 532  Hepco & Becker Breva Centerstand

As a matter of fact, I had a bitch of time getting the alignment right on the left exhaust pipe using the exhaust hanger/centerstand stop that was included in the kit and looks DIFFERENT from the one in the instruction PDF on the AF1 site.

When Cam and I installed his centerstand (which I believe he got from AF1) it looked ALMOST identical to what Harpers sold me EXCEPT that said exhaust hanger/centerstand stop was DIFFERENT. IT LOOKED LIKE WHAT WAS IN THE INSTRUCTION PDF. IT WAS MUCH EASIER TO INSTALL.

In the end mine required a hardware store run and some additional washers to change clearance between the heat shield on the muffler and the stand deployment arm, adjusted by altering the spacing (and the actual bolt holes) on the bracket.

Cam's was a straight bolt on, no worries installation.

So either way, I suspect you'll be in better shape than I was.

I'll have to take a look at the center stand stop.   I would suspect the difference would be due to the up-swept exhaust on the Racer.

Another option would be to just move the V7C stand over to the V7S and not bother on the Racer at all.    I don't really need a center stand on the Racer.    It would be a weight savings, yeah, that's it.    I definitely want one on the V7S as getting accessing the left H&B side case with the bike on the side stand guarantees stuff is going to fall out, esp. with how far over these bikes lean with the US side stand.

Or in my case the centerstand stop (and whole assembly) was for a BREVA 750 and not a V7C/V7S ???

Can't say.

On mine it wasn't a bracket made from 1 piece of metal, it was a chromed piece welded to a painted piece. Where the bolt holes lined put the exhaust in the wrong position. I had to elongate them (dramatically) and of course this was on the chromed piece.

But we were between houses, living with friends, had a newborn, had just sold a house, were looking for a house and then buying one, in another state etc. Bitching about it and finding the right bracket just wasn't on the To Do list...

It's the upswept pipe on the V7R (and my ex-V7CC). The LHS hanger is different. If I recall, it provides the bump-stop for the stand when it's retracted.

Yup it provides the bump stop.

And now that I think about it, that makes perfect sense.

I just checked and the Breva 750 had upswept pipes too.

Though it's still weird Harpers (and I guess HB) has the B7 stand listed as also for he V7C too (specifically the one they sold me, PART NUMBER: 505.532) and then they also have listed a separate one for 2010+ (but only list the Nevada, PART NUMBER: 505.543 00 01 )

http://www.harpermoto.com/main-data-base/hepco-and-becker/center-stands.html

And I don't recall if they had this then too, but they also have a separate section call OEM V7 Accessories which lists the two part numbers you are looking at Jay:

http://www.harpermoto.com/main-data-base/moto-guzzi-factory-accessories-en/v7.html

V7 RACER CENTRAL STAND
 PART NUMBER: 895509

and

V7 CLASSIC/SPECIAL/STONE CENTRAL STAND
 PART NUMBER: 983164

Honestly all of these listing look different from what I remember. They also had some additional bolt/nut that I needed to order and they suggested it on the website too.

They must have changed things around.

I also believe that my parts all came wrapped in Moto Guzzi plastics with MG part numbers, which makes it all even odder.

Maybe the HB numbers are just equivalents for the MG numbers?

The text on MGCycle's site is the same as AF1's site, and just says which bikes they fit.  No surprise there, buy the right part, and it fits.

I just looked at the (V7C) center stand on my V7R.    I see where there is a spot you could thread on a stop for it to stop against the exhaust.    I've go Arrows on it, they have bracket with a stop on it.   The stand itself stops itself against the stationary part of the stand right at the pivot.   I don't really see anything objectionable about the way it stops and works, so, I'm not going to fix what isn't broken.

I'll just order the Classic/Stone/Special version of the stand.   And hey, it's $20 cheaper than the one for the Racer (Guzzi content  ).
