Reminds me of a safety course I took once. The instructor said something to the effect, "Never turn you back on a fire." I asked if it is better to get hit by flying debris in the front of the body or the back. I think I'd prefer the back.

What amazed me was that someone left their apparently undamaged car right up close to it. T'were me I'd have driven out of there quick smart.

Hard to believe the rider had the timing and wherewithal to avoid that crash.  All neurons were firing in those 2 seconds to figure a way out of that, and maybe none of it conscious thought.  The truck driver almost took out two pedestrians after he crossed into the shoulder on the other side of the highway.  The best and worst all in 10 seconds.
