Do you swap tires for Winter riding?

Do you change tires for the winter riding season? Out here in CA its mostly rain that comes with winter and I just pick those days where ultimate drivers aren't sliding over double yellows to ride.
If you do swap, what brand model of tire if it differs from your usual tires. I have heard folks just keeping nearly new skins for winter or just changing them before the wet season hits and keeping on that replacement schedule.

Unless you use studded tires for Ice racing you better assume you will have poor to no traction. Once tires are warmed up a little they will have the best grip but I wouldn't suggest riding on ice unless you are trying to build up body strength by lifting the bike up a lot.

I did, and then, riding through the winter, the salt ruined my rims and pitted my engine. Completely rusted the plated grills of the OEM horns, too. (This was the T3.) I'm a slow learner.
