Claimed to be Original Telaio Rosso V7 Sport 4 Sale

The seller will not post any more than 1 picture or reveal the engine or frame serial numbers. Interested buyers need to contact the seller in person. Without any more pictures it is near impossible to validate the claim that this bike is a original Telaio Rosso. Worth keeping an eye on to see where this may end but I imagine the deal will not close on Ebay.

If I understand the original post it seemed to indicate that this was THE original V7 sport race bike.  If that is what the seller is claiming I can tell you that is pure unadulterated horse hockey.

I am sure that Guzzi still has the original somewhere.  The original racer did not have a finish coat of paint, the green came about because it happened to be the color of the Zinc Chromate primer they sprayed it with.

Besides this one has a large Bosch starter on it.  What is original about that??

An original and THE original are two very different things if more than one if the model were made.

As wet behind the ears I am about Guzzis I had to look it up... Now I know the bike . Beautiful machine . I couldn't own it though. I'd wanna always ride the sh_t out of it and let it plummet in value ..

Assuming that the bike is indeed in Germany, anyone with the wherewithal and desire to snag one of the remaining Telaio Rosso  bikes could  get the seller's permission to transport the bike over to Bruno Scola's shop outside Milan to confirm  its authenticity. Unless the seller has other documentation, he should also be interested as his bike would certainly be worth more.

If the photo would show the transmission it would be easy to tell.  These had the rare smooth case 5 speed.

Quite a few four speed cases have been converted to five speed for the proper look.

I'm with you Mike. A "smart" seller of an original anything, bike, car, painting, firearm... would provide photographic and documented  provenance. If he's withholding information, he's more than likely hiding the fact it's not what he says it is. A scammer's gonna scam!

It has a red frame but that's all you can say about it from that one photo. There are a number of things that wouldn't be original.

Starter, rear shocks, tail lamp, toolbox decals (should be no eagle), silencers (Lafranconis came later as an option) and I'm sure that's a repro seat.

All the same, it's a nice bike.

Shocks are definitely not correct original type, foot rest brackets should not be black, front header P brackets missing, rubber frame plug missing, (getting really, really picky now), was the centre stand on the Telaio Rosso red to match the frame?

It's a nice bike,of course but looks like it was completely taken apart, painted, chromed,polished etc...that would affect the value ( versus a red frame bike that is preserved )
Unless the bike was so messed up that was impossible to save, i would have not touched it ,repaint an original red frame bike it's wrong to me but there are not enough information to understand what's the story behind this bike.

Sure i don't understand the seller's selling strategy....

Yes it should be round but not that one.

the original rear light is available new , if he cant be bothered to change that? i wonder what the rest is like

Sold an Alfa recently. Like many special interest vehicles, the replies come in wanting to know the VIN number.  Ad said show up and look. Same people come back with how it is proper to give out the VIN so prospective buyers could check for this and that and without it the car would not sell.

Car sold fast.

Obviously, seller isn't looking for long distance buyers and those without the time or means to go look. Doubtful he is trying to sell it to a USA buyer.

The right buyer will probably get hold of the seller, they'll talk and exchange enough info to make a deal. All that matters.

Just as "IS" can be debated to death by some, so can "THE", I guess.

Perhaps he means "The original" in a broader than given credit for sense. As in the case of my Willys being "The Original" Jeep. Sure, it ain't the first one but is of the first version.

Maybe this fella's saying his is "The original" in relating its production run relative to the current V-7 II Racer?

"V-7 Racer ya says ya gots there?... I'll tell ya Sonny, I gots the "original" in my shed."
