Yep . More surprised by the Black Prince that survived intact . Most of those were converted into naked bikes .

Very cool to scan through the bikes being offered.  Makes me think that there is a bubble in the bike market when I look at the prices that they expect for many of these bikes.  I was talking with someone yesterday and they attributed the current price escalation in part on the various "pickers" type reality shows and he suggested these shows have put a lot of hype in the market (sorry I don't have a TV so don't know much about these shows).

Is Lot 136 a bike that Larry Klein (RIP) had in his shop?

agree,  we've seen it in collector cars, now bikes.  Prices are through the roof.  I suppose it's just that some guys have more money than brains and have priced the modest guys out of the market but have allowed a lot of folks to cash in on their hobbies- so it cuts both ways I guess.

That's an awful lot of Vincents, flat tankers, Harleys and Indians, Bimotas and high-end Ducatis to bring to market at one time. Considering how many of the bikes come from estates, I wonder if there are enough living buyers to meet the projections and reserves on all of this iron? It will be interesting to analyze the outcome. It might suggest whether or not there is still room for this bubble to grow or if it's on the verge of bursting.

I found the TV listing.  It's on Mecum's website for some reason?

The Mecum auction will be televised but not the Bonhams auction. I'll be at both, I suspect with my hands in my pockets......  Lots of eye candy.

ah ha ha...one of my old bikes is up for auction:  The 1974 XR75!  I sold it on through fleabay a couple of years back.  Now the punter is offering it up at about 2X what I got....  I've got no issues though, because I only paid $75.00 for it in the mid- 1990's

I have a REAL problem with Pickers so I don't watch. I admire the guy who got a call from a guy who used to live next to him who talked to a guy who knew a guy who had a whatever. Then persevered through the motions finally acquiring the whatever. The Pickers drive around in a van & get a phone call homing them in on a location where they cherry pick the find for their own keepsake or profit. I know "they find & keep things in circulation", but it bothers me. I have friends who disagree sooo...mine is just an opinion.
