My wife and I always go to Topsail Island on the coast of NC for our beach vacations.  It's right south of the Marine base, Camp Lejeune.  There's a Marine airfield there, New River, and they have at least on squadron of Ospreys.  That is one strange looking machine flying low over the beach.  I guess they've finally sorted out all the problems with it, but it killed a lot of Marines before they did.

Saw a few of the Ospreys flying the other day down there.

Just came back from down there last night. My Son in law's Mother passed away just before Christmas so Cindy and I went down for the funeral.

Beautiful concept helo. Counter rotating rotors have been tested before but maybe the X2 will lead to a production helicopter. The pusher prop will likely help set speed records. Sure wish I could fly that awesome machine...Retired helo pilot.

No wasted HP on tailrotor to counter the torque, guess the computer adjust the pitch of each blade to control yaw??
