Dusty, CJ750, delrod, Steve Walker, et al:

A friend just told me about this estate auction in Bentonville to be held Sunday 24 January.

There will be a Cal Jackal on the block, among the other estate items.

I don't know anything about it, but it will likely be able to be bought for a song.

I'll be out of town, otherwise I'd be there:

Interesting. This looks to be the same Jackal that was listed locally on Craigslist several times last year, with some blurry photographs and a claim of "under 1100" miles, even though the speedometer showed 10,000+ miles. Doesn't look like they've added any since then. Asking price was $5,500.00, IIRC. I can't understand why it didn't sell...
Unfortunately, I have a conflict. Otherwise, I'd love to be there.
Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

No one will know what it is.  Site says "no reserve auction", so it might be an opportunity.  If it's running.

It's an estate sale, so my guess is the owner has passed, and his estate has been trying to sell it at that price, no knowing what they didn't have...

I'm pretty sure I know who this is. If so, he took excellent care of everything he owned.

Auction prices are all over the park. I've been to some that I could have bought the item for selling price and got my money back on scrap. Know what you want to pay and don't get caught in the auction frenzy.

I might get my passport renewed or else sneak over the Red River in the darkness of night to attend.
