T3 donor engine Morgan Style three wheeler Carb' question.

Am intending to use my T3 engine/gearbox as a donor for a Morgan style Guzzi three wheeler as in Aero Cycle Car s (

).
Haven't bought as yet a few bikes need to go first :-(
The engine is fitted with a 1000cc engine but otherwise standard.
A number of things I have to do, I'm told, in preperation such as consider uprating the alternatorc as needs more power, change the points to electronic and so on.
One point I was thinking about is the carb's. Currently has standard VHB 30mm carbs and was wondering if PHBF carbs may be better OR larger carbs?
Any thoughts/suggestions? What else would I need to change too?

given that clearance to the knee is not an issue. I'd go with straight back manifolds and what ever carb you can get cheap. Look into VM Mikunis, but with the stock porting/valves, no bigger than 34 or 36mm tops.

Please don't mount japanese Mikuni carbs on a classic Guzzi engine. Good lord.
Dellorto's, either version, will work fine.

:-) Mikuni carbs. I'm at traditionalist so I think I'll stay Dell'orto but thanks for the advice :-)
Thanks also Leafman I will am a member. Just pondering at the mo' what might be best.
I still have two bikes, to part fund come spring, to sell. My immaculate Falcone Tourismo and a 350 TT. I may well not be able to bring my self to sell the Falcone :-)

I have a good friend with a Guzzi-powered JZR 3-wheeler. I've tried to help him with a few glitches in his Dellorto fuel float levels etc.
The guys on those 3-wheeler forums have the machines and know all the ins and out.
You probably know that there are more than one manufacturer of these kits. Both Triking and JZR are the most prominent. Generally, the Triking is considered the "nicest" but the JZR's ( like my friend's) are nice too.
I'm sure you also know that Morgan is now producing and selling their own new version of these rigs utilizing S&S's proprietary X-wedge motor.
I have thought seriously about getting a 3-wheeler too. I like the looks of the old 1930's original Morgans and the kits such as Triking and JZR better than I like the more modern new Morgan version.
I even thought I would like a genuine old Morgan until last year when a guy brought one to a local car show. It was the real deal with a Matchless Vtwin. We talked a while and I let him know I wanted one. He looked at me- I'm 6'-2" - and asked if I had every been in an original. I said no and he suggested I try to get into his. After a few tries - I couldn't get into the damn thing!
The cockpit of the original is very small. This owner, though not as tall as me, had cut a clearance curve into the bottom of his dash so he could get into it. Maybe I could have eventually contorted enough to have slipped into the car but I started realizing- once I got in, how in the hell would I get out! I changed my mind about owning an original Morgan Three-wheeler.

I had always intended to get a Guzzi Morgan style three wheeler, only decided this year when a friend sold a few of his bikes and bought a Morgan car. His wife wasn't really up to riding on the back of a bike now, and that made me think seriously about it and look to take the plunge.
Have looked at all the different types and the Triking is obviously considered the top but I actually prefer the look of the Aero Cycle Car so that's the way I'm likely to go. Unless something else second hand comes up in the meantme :-)
I missed a nice JZR last year second hand, went for about £7k!!! No reverse which I'd prefer but still a good price in my eyes.
Being short, not to mention over weight :-) I was told by a Triking owner I might have trouble with throttle etc :-) I have exchanged a few Email with Arthur Rayner, the owner of the Aero Cars, and he said the throttle etc has a number of positions and in fact he s much the same size as me :-)
I hadn't considered the origional Morgan as they go for good money now. There was one, in superb condition, sold recently for £70k ($100000)!
I am a died in the wool Guzzi man so the modern Morgan I could never live with :-)

Absolutely nothing at all 'Old bike54' :-) I'm sure the Mikuni would probably even be better but I'm a bit sad like that, as said, died in the wool :-)

10 years ago I considered building a Morgan kit car after riding in Bob Nolan's Guzzi trike in Wash. State. He started with a kit, added a fiberglass hard top and matching tent trailer where he & his wife drove it all over the place while he was still alive. What turned me off of following thru with the plan is that they are so small/low in heavy traffic you can hardly be seen. I would need a tall antenna w/a flag on it so I wouldn't get run over.
But riding in 1 is a BLAST !!!
You're so low to the ground you feel like you are hauling a$$ even when you're not.

Well aware of the size issues :-) Am retired so can pick and chose when I go out and am soon out on the backroads. Longer distances and having to use major roads are a bit of a concern must admit :-)

If you use DelOrtos I would use PHF's rather than PHBH or VHB's but that's my own preference, the PHF's are more tune able . The PHBH and VHB's use the same jets while the PHF use different size jets on the external threads, don't remember if that's only the mains.

I don't know about the Aerocycle or Triking, but the JZR frame will not allow straight manifolds. I own a JZR with a G5 950cc block with oem vhb`s. It has an eldo flywheel and has more than enough power and smoothness to throw the beast down the road smoothly and quickly. Havent had many problems , I`d recommend keeping it stock and simple, with the extra weight , low end torque is a good thing .
