Key fails on my 75T
« on: January 17, 2016, 03:55:12 PM »
Of all the silly things to fail! I go to start the bike and one of the little teeth falls off my key. So, of course, I can't start the bike. The T uses that special switch that bolts to the frame tab so a quick hole drilled in the dash plate, a toggle switch and "secret" cover, I am good to go!

If you want a proper key switch and housing off of a Convert, I'll send you one.

Some of the universal ignition switches will fit nicely in the holder, but you'll have to put new terminals on the wires. I've done that upgrde to 3 of my older bikes.

With a little bit of modification to the cast switch housing and to the ignition assembly you can get this to fit right in.

I have fit them to V7 Sports and 750S3 bikes.

I appreciate the suggestions but I think I have a spare at home. Remember, the switch has two M6 threaded holes that allows it to be bolted to the frame and has a slot for the steering piece so it can lock the steering when the key is in the removal position.
