I lived in New England for years so I've had considerable experience driving in the snow. Much less snow here in Santa Fe, and one of the biggest problems during a snow event is the other drivers. Some barrel along at or above the speed limit even with snow and ice completely covering the road surface. Others creep along with their flashers on (like other drivers can't see your car). It's downright scary.

30+ inches & still snowing for a bit longer in central Maryland.  The wall the snowplow leaves across my driveway is closer to 48".  MD has more snow than Santa Fe, but we still have more than our share of idiots on the road who don't know nearly as much about driving in snow/ice as they think they do (they aren't much better on clear roads on sunny days, now that I think about it) & I saw on local newscasts that we have a new situation of people, mostly supposedly "adults," out playing in the middle of streets that huge snowplows are still actively trying to clear off - leading to some impromptu games of chicken between big dumptrucks with big blades on the front vs. stupid pedestrians - so far no reports of fatalities, but it is probably only a matter of time.  The Darwin Principle in action...

Wow , watching the news this morning , looks like you folks are dealing with some incredible snow amounts . Everyone check in and let us know how you're doing . I know one of our Texas boys is still stranded in NYC .

Only a couple more inches of snow last night and no real bad winds so can't complain. Jenn had no problem getting to the hospital this morning.

Follow up pic this morning. Kinda pretty.

Total snowfall here in Palmyra, PA (Hershey/Harrisburg area) is about 30"    It's hard to get an accurate measurement with the drifting.

As of this morning, China and Japan have severe cold fronts w/snow too.  Global warming resulting in global cooling.

Very Pretty KevM. We had 36 deg C here yesterday , We are right on the Central coast of Queensland and the humidity makes it feel hotter. I've only seen snow a couple of times , I don't think I could live with it long term, I'd be whining about the cold too  :thumb:

Fortunately, I have the right tools to deal with a snow like this.    Several of my neighbors were very grateful for a visit from the Kubota with the 60" woods blower on the back.     Two or three passes up each driveway, and done.

Luckily we rarely live with it for more than a few weeks each winter, though the cold lasts a few months generally.

I can't complain, heated leather seats in the cages take the chill off just fine.
