what a beast, is that air cooled?  not sure about the angles of the driveshaft..

Some type of car engine . Most likely from some Eastern European marque. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2 stroke. Very cool machine .

Here is the model of car the engine comes from Zaporozhets (kind of a Russian Corvair)

although I would try lifting one from that particular car, that guy looks kind of dangerous!

Definitely a four stroke, rocker covers, exhausts coming out of the head, plugs in on the angle and the sound is definitely four stroke.
