Joint Pain Relief - My Story
« on: February 20, 2016, 02:06:50 PM »
Riders have mentioned joint pain. My answer 20 years ago came in the form of Glucosamine & Chondroitin Sulfate with MSM. Here's my story....

Back in April of 1994, I tore my ACL in my knee. I had previously had arthroscopic surgery on my other knee and recovery was a breeze. But recovery from having my ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) replaced was 1,000X harder. At the age of 41, recovery was taking a long time. Then I read "The Arthritis Cure" book. It talked about how cartilage could be repaired with Glucosamine & Chondroitin Sulfate. I wasn't doing too well so I tried it.

6 weeks after starting using it I began to notice significant improvement. 12 weeks into it I was back to playing tennis  and riding bicycle (and motorcycle).

Since then i continued to take this joint supplement with various names to it and found out later that the MSM was a key ingredient in getting it to work well. From 1996 thru 2010 I religiously took it in the morning and it kept me going. Every so often when I would run out of the stuff, I would go cold turkey... and after about 7 days, the pain would always return.  My knees felt 80 years old!

Somewhere around 2011 I ran out of the stuff. Went cold turkey AND the pain DID NOT RETURN!!! I have not taken it since then and can only surmise that my cartilage has repaired itself like the book talked about. I do regular activities, have peddled  my bicycle on 1,000 mile trips, ridden my motorcycle, played tennis, hiked and have felt great.

All I can say is the stuff works! I've recommended it to friends and they've had similar results. Thought I would pass this along to those with joint pain.   Remember to give it at least 6 weeks to start feeling results.

Maybe that stuff would help my feet. Cheery Juice (pure) is suppose to help too.

I've been on Remicade for years and they won't take me off the stuff.

The feet went to hell 1 1/2 years ago. They were so bad at one time they would burn while driving the car.

I have never tried the items you are using but have talked to many who have used them with good results.

I started crippling from arthritis about 15 years ago: right hand was a claw in the mornings & the bones in the right foot would pop in & out.

Started using Yucca root in a dried powder form.  Heaping teaspoon dropped in cold water, stir & drink twice a day. (Don't Heat It!)

Nasty tasting stuff but worked fast.  Within 24 hours I had flexibility & within 3 days the pain was almost gone.

After a week I dropped the dosage to once a day then another week and it was once every other day, then every week.

Now I use it as needed & I also rotate it with other herbs like tumeric & black pepper, ginger, cinnamon, coconut oil etc.

As far as diet goes avoid: coffee/caffine(green tea, black tea), night shade plants IE tomatoes & red peppers, oregeno, pasta, white breads, wheat etc.....

Yeah I know it's everything you want to eat. Tough you enjoyed it for a lot of years now you gotta cut back on it or suffer or take a lot of side effect drugs.

I've always had German Shepherd dogs. My present one has always been healthy as a horse, no issues- EXCEPT  all along, even when just a year old, whenever he would fetch stuff or play, he'd always run back limping on one of his front legs. I mean all the time. When he was six, during a normal vet visit, the vet said they now prophylactically put Shepherds his age on Cosequin, (glucosamine and chondroitin) to possibly stave off the hip and joint issues that older Shepherds inevitably get. Well, he's now eight, and he's still very active, and he hasn't had a limp in the past two years since taking the Cosequin. Made a believer out of me.

20 years ago, I had very painful elbows and knees.  Took glucosamine and within 90 days was pain-free.  I continue to take 500 mg t.i.d. and have been pain free ever since.  Made a big difference in my life.

A gentleman was telling me last night about DMSO liquid he rubs on his bad joints.  Has used it for years for relief. Google it up.  I wish I heard of it two years ago when I had Shingles on my face..... it helps that.

Arthritis Hot tropical cream helps the feet in my case.

Quote
I have had many surgeries and sometimes my nerves start misfiring which feels like I am itchy underneath my skin. No amount of scratching will make the feeling go away. We have tried a half dozen prescription cremes such as lidocaine-- and every hot/cold/numbing creme I could find at the drugstore. This is the only one that makes the feeling go away, and it works almost immediately. Even other cremes with the exact same active ingredients (and percentage) have not worked. If you have this problem, you must try Arthritis Hot!

all my dogs get this every day, as soon as adopted. don't wait until you see a problem.

What is MSM?

METHYLSULFONYLMETHA NE

It's also found in Onions I believe, and is also good for hair.

Another natural way to relieve joint pain inflammations is to ingest spicy foods, like adding Serrano peppers, habanero, cayenne, etc. If they are too hot to handle at first, use little in foods then increase the amounts with time.

Interesting, as I wake up with pain in my left foot, both elbows and shoulders and wonder what the heck is going on, maybe it's time to try this.  I'm looking at the big 5-0 soon, and still bench well over 300 pounds, but something has to give, right?

It would be nice to be pain-free......

Most likely, the older you get the more chronic your pain will become.

What dosage do you take? Im thinking this may help my wife. Diane is a bank teller and spends 9+ hours on her feet every day. At 56 years of age its starting to take its toll as far as foot pain goes. I dont see how she does it, with a smile on her face....I sure could not!

I would hope she get's to stand on a rubber foot pad. If not that's cruel and unusual punishment.

She needs to see a podiatrist and get some custom orthotics. Also, those new tennis shoes with max cushioning are pretty incredible.

How right you are. When I had kidney stones, the E.R. doc asked me if it was OK with me if he gave me something for the pain until my urologist got there. (A really stupid question at that point) After I nodded yea, he gave me a Demerol Visterol and Morphine cocktail IV. I was floating about two feet above the gurney. At that moment I understood an addict's craving for heroin.

My knee joint pains are under control with a daily regimen of the stuff mentioned above, MSM, gloucosamine, chondrotin, onions, hot peppers, etc.  But I also take turmeric both in pill and powder form, as well as some "joint tea" by Yogi, one cup a day.

Perhaps all those items are part of the witches' brew that works.
