Hello from Minnesota
« on: March 07, 2026, 09:33:58 AM »
Hello from Minnesota. After 25 years of loyal Honda ownership (Pacific Coast/ST1100/Valkyrie Interstate/NT700V/ST1300) the lure of a Stelvio was too much. Purchased a 2013 NTX with just over 13k miles in late February. It had few upgrades-GPR exhaust and reflashed ECU, and upgraded driving lights. My plan is to very little to it other than upgrade the headlights to LED. Bought the fanless Pathfinders that many have had good experience with. My question is is a simple one..what is the part number of the plastic ring which secures the headlight bulb? In order to for the new bulbs to fit properly in the retainer ring, the existing hole in the center has to be enlarged—which is not a problem. Should it be decided to back to an halogen bulb, new retainer rings will be needed. I’ve messed up enough installations over the years to know it’s best to have a plan B. Any insight appreciated. Looking forward to being part of the MG community. Jay

Thank you GuzziSteve...#21 was initially appeared to me to be the item being sought..however it is labeled as a "dimmer for headlight" and only for AUS/GB/JP...

#23 looked to be more of the protection caps for keeping dust and moisture from the bulb once installed. Guess not convinced to order either and see what arrives. For an item which most anyone would have to remove or modify when upgrading the headlight bulbs...thought there would be more info out there on it. Thinking might be a call to a MG shop on Monday to see what insight they can offer.

Hi from near Alexandria Mn.  Not knowing what dealer you went through. In Mn we currently have 2 dealers, Caswell in Mora Mn, or Leo’s in the cities. Les and Kay Caswell have been dealers since the late 70’s, I try to stop in and pick up supplies at least once a year, they are good people.320-679-1383

I’ve heard mixed reviews about Leo’s ( mostly service related) but I’ve never been in their shop.

I found ordering parts through Ned’s Cycle Shop in Riverside IA to be one of the best and easiest places to work with. Jim (Ned’s son) has been around Guzzi’s forever, he is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Jim can be reached at 319-648-3241 or 319 330-8830, if you sent a picture and the numbers you think it might be he would help get the correct part.

In case you weren’t aware, Mn had/ has? An active club with yearly rallies in Grand Marie for many years. There are members near the cities who gathered a few times a year. But the last President John Ulrich decided to quit last year, I have t heard of anyone taking over the position, and also haven’t seen anything posted about a rally this year.

If you want to meet Minn riders it would be worth your while to check out the Wisconsin and Iowa Guzzi rallies.
Good luck finding your part.

I had heard Les passed away years ago. Am I wrong?
I bough several bikes from him when I lived in Brainerd. I also set him up with Stihl chainsaws.

Les is still very much alive as far as I know. He is now also part owner of a Brewery, can’t recall name, but great beer.
Perhaps your thinking of Ned the son of the former of the cycle shop.
