Odd looking 850 for sale - San Diego Craigslist
« on: March 02, 2016, 12:30:49 PM »
No affiliation, etc. Found this one this morning and can't figure out what I'm looking at.

Stored for 20 years ? Bobberized before storage ?

That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Well, it's been stored in La Jolla for 20 years - think of the property taxes.

It says OBO - I could shave off the first or last digit of his asking price. But it would still need a seat, mufflers, battery. And it sounds like the brakes are none too good at this moment either.

I had heard that old Tonti prices were escalating due to all the cafe builds, etc. Of course as supply goes down demand/prices will go up, but, come on, this is ridiculous!

Hey John,
I sometimes wish my pegs were that low and that far forward!

All it needs is a seat and different bars to be close to stock. And a price 1/3 as much!

It looks like the seat to foot peg distance is really close

If I were going to spend that much on an older bike, I'd want it to look like this one:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/mcy/5465182136.html

It's got modern brakes and suspension, super clean, and only 500 miles away...

Also note the Ghezzi-Brian V11 Sport in the background, which has been for sale on CL for a looooonnnngggg time.

The only thing I don't like about that red Eldo is the handgrips, and I could probably ignore them if I tried to while I was riding it.
