A short ride on one of the world's best bikes

Just a short, crappy bit of unedited footage, celebrating an early spring ride.

Yep - the Tach is stuck at about 2500 and the speedo does it's own thing, but like a stopped wrist-watch, at least it's fleetingly accurate some of the time, which is more than you could say about it before it went wonky.

Beautiful.

But it actually scared me. Conditions similar to that had me throwing my 550 Zook down the road once.

Love the sound of you bike, especially at the beginning of the video at idle. Where is the mic mounted?

It was just the mike on the GoPro, which at that point was on a harness on my chest. Sometimes the sound is great, but usually not.

I was able to have my old Dell subwoofer interfaced to next gen computer.  The vibes at low speed were damned near as good as being on the bike.  The Guzzi v twin is indeed a wonderful thing!  Thanks for posting.

Makes me mad, I need to get my eldo back together soon. Even if she misses a few weeks of spring riding it will be worth it.

It's a cheap, quilted, industrial worker's jacket I bought at a farm supply store in the UK to stave off hypothermia. I'm still alive, so I assume it worked. It fits over my leather jacket and is WARM and waterproof.  I think it was this one (or very similar)

I've been looking for a way to mount a GoPro on a bike.  You use the body harness?

I've been looking for a way to mount a GoPro on a bike.  You use the body harness?

I use everything I can think of. Single point-of-view video is dull as dishwater, except to the person that did the riding.

The body harness provides a nice, steady view, but I also use suction mounts on the panniers (when they're on the bike), helmet mounts, clamps on the crash bars, suction mounts on the fairing.......right, left middle.........poin ting forwards, pointing backwards.....you get the idea. GoPro provide and endless array of clamping and mounting options on their web site.   For every 5 minutes of footage, you might get a few seconds of interesting or representative stuff. The real work is in the editing (and even then, the results can be marginal.....mine anyway).

I took lots of different footage on this ride, but got lazy, and only posted a small, unedited clip.

I also like parking the camera and riding by - but once you start doing that kind of thing, you've already committed to riding less and playing more with video, which may not be what you want.
